Overview

Title of Position: Rock Quarry Loader Operator

Location: Belle Mead, NJ

Shift: 1st Shift 4:45 am- 5:00 pm

So, what does a Silvi Materials Loader Operator do?

The Loader Operator will have experience operating a front-end loader to move aggregate.  The successful candidate must demonstrate initiative and responsibility, have strong interpersonal skills, and be flexible and adaptable in a fast-paced, fluid business environment. Additionally, we encourage all employees to participate in continuing education to stay abreast of technical knowledge relevant to their profession and changes in safety compliance.  To help achieve that goal, we offer On-The-Job Training, Formal coursework for Certifications, and Tuition Reimbursement.

 

Position Essential Functions Responsibilities

  • Ability to operate large front-end loaders and other mechanized construction equipment safely and adeptly.
  • Load material from a stockpile.
  • Must be able to estimate load size for a vehicle and not over- or underload a truck.
  • Must do general cleanup around all areas.
  • Ability to build up and maintain a stockpile of material.
  • Check, service and assist in making minor and emergency adjustments and repairs in the field and in the repair shop.
  • Perform landscaping duties.

Qualifications Required:

  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Experience operating a front-end loader is highly preferred. Experience operating similar heavy equipment, commercially driving a 10K lb+ vehicle, will be considered depending on the machinery. 
  • Knowledge of the common reasons for mechanical failure and the steps necessary to correct malfunctioning.
  • Knowledge and experience with safety regulations, i.e. OSHA, as they apply to the operation
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Possesses a sense of urgency and ownership
  • Must possess an even temperament to work under pressure to prevent costly delays in production that can result from machinery breakdown
  • Possesses analytical, problem-solving, and customer service skills.
  • Ability to respond with flexibility and efficiency to frequent changes in task focus, competing priorities, and multiple deadlines.
  • Trades-level skills in one or more of the following: carpentry, electrical, plumbing to support staff training, troubleshooting, inspections, specification development, building construction etc.

Physical Requirements

In a typical work setting, people in this job:

  • Lift 50 pounds regularly and up to 100 pounds on occasion.
  • Use one or two hands to grasp, move, or assemble objects
  • Stand for long periods of time.
  • Kneel, stoop, crouch, bend, stretch, twist or crawl.
  • Hear sounds and recognize the difference between them.
  • See details of objects that are less than a few feet away.
  • See differences between colors, shades, and brightness.
